FAQ: CSA Boxes

What is a CSA box & What can I expect from The Potter’s Homestead?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a direct relationship between a small farm and their community. When you subscribe to a CSA in your area, you are simply purchasing shares of that season’s harvest in advance. When doing this, you make a commitment to support the farm financially at the start of the season. This model helps your local farmer with their up operating costs, encouraging small scale farms to be truly viable in the long term.
In exchange for this commitment on your part and assuming the risks and rewards that come along with farming, we can provide you and your family with the freshest, nutrient dense produce throughout a set number of weeks, using sustainable and organic farming methods.

I have dietary restrictions / allergies. How can I inform you of them so I receive a box that I can fully consume?
Great question. My goal is that you can fully enjoy your crop shares. Please fill out the contact form in our "contact" page and let us know what your needs are (vegan, vegetarian, allergies, etc). We will be in touch :)

How does it work?

The season runs from the end of June to mid October. Members can meet at the farm to receive their weekly or bi-weekly share of the harvest. Pick-ups are on Thursdays between 3-6pm.
By joining the CSA, you become a member of The Potter's Homestead family. We’ll be in touch for a whole 16 weeks, and we are so grateful for that!

For our Montreal friends, a location and date/time for pick-up is still TBD for 2022. Thank you!

What happens if I’m out of town and can’t pick up my box?
Of course, life happens! It's very common for folks to have friend/family members pick up their boxes for them when they are away. You can also choose to cancel your share for that week, I will provide a credit equal to the cost of one box to use on our website. Kindly note that any forgotten pick-ups can be saved for a few days, but will not receive a credit.
